Dark secrets. Long-lost, unknown children. Add in a splash of comedy and a heaping helping of soap stars, and you have the recipe for the second season of the Emmy-winning digital series Studio City.

The second season of the Emmy-winning, soap star-studded Studio City is now available for on demand viewing.

"I am unbelievably proud of Studio City and what we accomplished during season one. It was a project that, with the hard work of an ensemble of talented creatives, came to fruition and won the Daytime Emmy in 2021 for Outstanding Fiction Series. We are excited to bring you season two," Sean Kanan, the series' creator, writer, executive producer, and star, said in a statement."

If you haven't tuned in to Studio City, here's what you are missing: Studio City tells the dramatic and comedic story of Sam Stevens (played by Kanan), a long-time soap opera actor starring in the number two most-watched daytime drama, Hearts on Fire, as he struggles to keep his top spot on the show, break out of soaps into feature films, and deal with his own complicated life, which includes a few dark secrets concerning his past, including an aging stepfather, the twisted truth of his paternity, and a daughter that he never knew existed.

Sounds... very soapy, right? That might just be the reason that the show took home Daytime Emmy gold last year. If you're intrigued, you can catch up with the first season of the series at any time on demand.

Earlier this year, Kanan chatted with Soap Central and offered a preview of what to expect in the new season of Studio City.

"We are going to see some fun new guest-star appearances, we're going to see several of the characters that were in the previous season, but the most exciting thing is that, if you remember from season one, my character, Sam Stevens, his dream has always been to be an action star, and Sam gets his chance to be an action star," Kanan said. "He finds himself cast as the co-star in a major studio film, and I guess you could say be careful what you wish for because you just may get it! Also, the relationship continues to deepen between Sam and his daughter, who is played by my real-life stepdaughter, Juliet Vega."

Kanan even offered a preview of the familiar faces that fans will see.

"Lilly Melgar [ex-Claudia Cortéz, B&B; ex-Lily Rivera, General Hospital], she's joining us, and she's terrific; Scott Turner Schofield, who was in last season and was also on The Bold and the Beautiful [as Nick]; and a really terrific addition, and I've had so much fun working with him, Justin Torkildsen, who played Rick Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful. He had a very small role in one episode of Studio City last year, and now he's got a really significant role in this season, and he is absolutely terrific. He's just so funny, and we are so excited to have him. I think people are going to really enjoy these new episodes -- they're some of the best ones that we've done yet," Kanan previewed.

Also on the roster are Carolyn Hennesy (Diane Miller, GH), Tristan Rogers (Robert Scorpio, GH), Anna Maria-Horsford (Vivienne Avant, B&B), Philip P. Bruenn, Natalie Burn, Erin Soto, and Will Roberts.

Studio City can be seen exclusively on Amazon Prime's VOD platform.
