Is General Hospital bringing Ian Buchanan back in the role of Duke Lavery? Well, sort of. The actor says he'll be back this week for a little "ghosting."

Former General Hospital star Ian Buchanan has a little secret: He says he'll be returning to the ABC soap opera in the very near future!

The actor shared the exciting news via a Cameo video to a fan named Steve.

"I'm gonna be there on Monday or Tuesday this coming week," Buchanan reveals in the video. "Just appearing... ghosting. But I don't think anybody knows it. You may be the first. Well, I knew it, and people there knew it, but I haven't heard about it anywhere else. So, you may want to watch it."

Buchanan made his debut as General Hospital's Duke Lavery in the summer of 1986 and played the fan-favorite character until his presumed death in 1989. GH briefly recast the role in 1990 with actor Greg Beecroft, but Buchanan stepped back into the role for a run that lasted from 2012 to 2015, when Duke tragically died -- for real, this time. As fans likely recall, Duke was assassinated by Carlos (Jeffrey Vincent Parise), who was under orders from Julian (William deVry), so will Duke's ghostly appearance have something to do with Julian, who has been in anguish after detonating the bomb at the Floating Rib? As Buchanan says, you may want to watch GH to find out!

In addition to GH's Duke, Buchanan has played Days of our Lives' Ian McAllister, All My Children's Dr. Greg Madden, and The Bold and the Beautiful's James Warwick.
