Just weeks after joining the cast of The Young and the Restless in the contract role of Elena Dawson, former General Hospital star Brytni Sarpy (ex-Valerie Spencer) is set to appear in the latest season of OWN's The Haves and the Have Nots.
The Tyler Perry-created series stars One Life to Live alum Tika Sumpter (ex-Layla Williamson) and follows three families and their lifestyles as they coexist in Savannah, Georgia: the rich, powerful, and locally very public Cryer and Harrington families (dubbed "The Haves") and the poor and destitute Young family (dubbed "The Have Nots").
Sarpy's character details have yet to be announced, but the actress revealed in a TV Insider interview that she will be appearing in a recurring capacity -- which means her new role on Y&R will likely be unaffected.
The upcoming season of The Haves and the Have Nots is scheduled to premiere on Tuesday, May 7, at 9:00PM ET on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network.
